Their dues were $2.00 a year. The ladies did many things to make money to help build their church which they began in 1916. The name Vaage was chosen to honor the homes in Norway where many of these pioneers were from and to help band together here those who had come from that locality — 1903 charter members were: Mrs. Thorstein Sahl, Mrs. E. O. Engesather, Mrs. A. L. Berness, Mrs. Enoch Anderson and Mrs. Syver Hanson. Added to Life Membership for earlier years were: Mrs. Ole Eidsness, Mrs. Helena Thompson, Mrs. Ole Skedsvold, Mrs. Hans Olson, Mrs. Arne Stratmoen and Mrs. John Engesather. In 1950 we became United Lutheran Ladies Aid. In 1961 we divided into circles but retained our Ladies Aid which we now call the American Lutheran Church Women. Our present officers are: Mrs. Albert Moilenen, chairman; Mrs. Robert Kangas, vice chairman; Mrs. Albert Honkola, secretary; Mrs. Gordon Matejcek, treasurer; Mrs. Norman Brodal, stewardship secretary and Mrs. Lyle Sundeen, education secretary.
