Veterans Monument, Las Animas, Bent County, Colorado Contributed by Luella Marlman October 9, 1999 Monument of Honor After World War II the Las Animas Fire Department erected a monument with names of the Bent County men and women who lost their lives in the war. It was first erected at the band shell located at the northeast corner on the same block as Memorial School. It was later moved to the north side of the Las Animas Cemetery.
