Pine Cemetery, Pine, Jefferson County, Colorado http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/jefferson/cemeteries/pine.txt Donated by Claire Meier Nov 2005 The Pine Cemetery is located in the town of Pine. From Denver, take highway 285 south. At the Pine Junction intersection, take 126 (also posted as Pine Valley Rd) about 5 miles to the town of Pine. Turn left on 4th Street, bear right on Elk Creek. The cemetery is on the right, about .1 miles from the turn onto 4th Street, and back from the road about 50 feet. There is no sign at present (11/13/03), but the cemetery is fenced with a gate. (Very hard to spot from the road.) The cemetery is very old and in disrepair. The original Pine Cemetery Association disbanded in the 1950's, but there is renewed interest in the cemetery's preservation, and a new Association has been formed. This transcription addresses visible stones and unmarked grave information provided by the Association's Historian, Alta Drynan. Additional information from Alta Drynan is indicated by asterisks ( * ) in the MARKED GRAVES section. She provided ALL information in the UNMARKED GRAVES section. Added: Claire Meier photographed the surviving headstones when she did this transcription.
