Wife of H.H.Hoffmeister, March 30 1846.......May 17, 1934 Having served her generation by the will of God, she fell asleep I want to add in addition to Herman's gravemarker and according to my cousin once removed, Virginia Shelby of Texarkana, their was at one time a brass plaque at the foot of Herman's grave. This plaque gave information on Herman regarding his service in the Confederacy. It is unknown what happened to the plaque. Herman was a native of Hanover Germany, and in 1854 arrived at the Port of New Orleans. Martha Chisholm- Born 1825 - Died 1889 Martha Chisholm- Born 1857 - Died 1887 J. The land (4 acres) was donated by Mrs. W.B. Spearman. It was organized about 1870 and got its name from the Munnerlyn family who moved into the community. In 1877 the Munnerlyn Chapel Methodist Church was oranized, becoming a member of the Arkansas Conference, and in 1902, the church was transferred to the Louisiana Conference. The church also served as a school house for children in the community for many years. After the Munnerlyn family moved into the community, they became active in the establishment of the church. A new church was built in 1935, replacing the original church, however the church has since been sold and relocated. The vacant lot on which the church sat is located across the road from the Munnerlyn Cemetery.
