There were 7 headstones and they were located in the woods near a right-of-way where the power lines are located. I have no idea who owned the property in this area back at the times these graves were made. I believe it is the O'Brien family that sold this land for development and they still own land around the lake, "Long Lake". The first tombstone I found when I walked into the area was one that was recently broken. It was the most difficult to read. It was away from the other 6 by itself and faced 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the others - faces east. It read: D____Belle (possibly Donna Belle) daughter of FM. & M. F(?)___N(?)TON (I'm only sure of the TON) died Sept. 25, 1825 lived(?) 3(?) years 8 months, 3 days There were 2 together. One looked like it had been "dug up" at one time. I don't know when it would have occurred. At least it looked that way with the ground dipping down. The larger tombstone was about 3-4 feet tall and only about 1 foot wide with a cross tilted to the right in the stone. It read: O. Ben Childers Co. B. La. Infantry Feb. 14, 1839 Dec. 28, 1910 & wife Josephine Lattier Sept. 28 1855 July 6, 1893 At Rest Next to it, to the left was a smaller one with Lattier as the last name. Looking at the birth dates, this must be Josephine's younger brother, possibly. Adolph Lattier Aug 14, 1862 Dec. 11, 1916 Death is another life. About 20-30 feet to the left of these graves were four tombstones side by side. Here they are from left to right. Marthe Ellen daughter of Reuben & Marthe White Born October 27, 1852 Died Aug. 13, 1853 (my notes: girl less than a year old) Reuben son of Reuben & Marthe White Born Sept. 18, 1849 Died Oct 19, 1851 (my notes: boy just over 2 years old, died before sister Marthe Ellen was born) Tobithe wife of George A. Loe Born July 20, 1786 Died April 14, 1850 (my notes: this grave was dug up but in a horizontal fashion not a vertical fashion. It was dug down maybe 1-1 1/2 feet) Thomas son of Geo.A. & Tobithe Loe Born Dec. 11, 1820 Died July 6, 1846 Amanda Mann Davis amanda64@bellsouth.net
