Together they had seven children and raised numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family wrote: "A God-loving woman and loving mother, Kate was a determined woman who lived by her own standards. Her faith in God pulled her through many hard times. She knew the importance of God in the lives of her children. She would use statements like: Don't drink, don't smoke and go to church. Mom knew the importance of God in our lives. "She always instructed her children in what was right, stressing that forgiveness was better than revenge. She was a very resourceful mother, making use of what was at hand to comfort her family. "Our mother loved to travel and see new places and liked being outdoors. She ran her own trapline with her children and grandchildren, walking from morning to evening. She always counseled us to use common sense and good judgment in our lives." Mrs. Chase is survived by her children, Rudy Chase, Allan Chase, Gloria Chase, Ken Chase, Calvin Chase, Ernie Chase, Leonard Chase and Clinton Chase; great-grandchild, Jarethan Chase; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
