Fortunately help was at hand, or there is little doubt the woman would have been killed. The chief of police was notified and he shot and killed one of the dogs later in the evening. The dogs are owned by a dishwasher in a downtown restaurant. They also attacked Mr. Morgan, a neighbor, who started to go over to Mrs. Finger's assistance when she heard of the occurrence, and it was only because some men scared off the dogs that she escaped injury herself.
