Couse Funeral Sunday. Ernest J. Couse, age 59, was injured in a mining accident at the Attwood Mine. Ernest died at St. Joseph's hospital 9 Oct 1923 due to a leg injury which caused severe blood loss. His leg was nearly severed by a ragged cable which entangled his leg while he was working on a shieve. The leg had to be amputated but the loss of blood and shock proved to much to overcome. Ernest had resided in the Interior and engaged in mining, railroad contracting and blacksmithing (his regular occupation). Ernest was a member of the Igloo of Pioneers #4, the Moose and the Odd Fellows. The Moose and Odd Fellows have taken charge of funeral arrangements at the request of his family. Ernest's family resides in Banged, New York, but the family requested that Ernest be buried in Fairbanks.
