PIONEERS OF ALASKA SEWARD CEMETERY
Seward, Alaska

The Pioneers of Alaska Cemetery in Seward, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska is located on
Coolidge Drive. It is the third cemetery on the right and is outlined with a wooden rail fence. It is
owned by the Pioneers of Alaska Igloo #9 and has been shared with the Elk's Lodge over the
years. The Pioneers' graves are on the west side and the Elk's graves are on the east side. The
sign is only put up in the summer. For location of cemetery see Appendix. Read October 7,
2002. Updated November 11, 2003.

The notation in parenthesis following the cemetery marker inscription is additional information.
The notation "1983 information" refers to Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Death Records and Cemetery
Inscriptions published in 1983 by the Kenai Totem Tracers. The notation "KM data" refers to the
data of Kerry Martin, Seward cemetery historian, who has researched death certificates,
obituaries, funeral home records and Seward Recording District records in an effort to learn more
about the people buried in the Seward cemeteries.
