Glenda Louise Ballmes, age 70, died peacefully at home on September 28, 2011.

Glenda was born on April 12, 1941 in Deer Park, Washington. She became an
Alaskan resident in 1994, moving to Sand Point until 1996. She was a resident in
Whittier from 1997 to 2011.

Glenda loved knitting sweaters and crocheting blankets. Going to movies was one
of her favorite activities. She instilled in her children a sense of knowing
that they could conquer anything they dreamed of, as well as a demeanor of
strong self reliance and independence. She showed her children how to find the
joy in all things life has to offer. Her children will cherish the many gifts
and lessons she taught and gave to them. She will be dearly missed by family,
friends, and members of the community.

Glenda Louise Ballmes is survived by her daughters Frankie Graham and Diana
Holmberg; her sons Timothy Harris and William Ballmes; her grandchildren Brandy,
Tera, Sheena, Tabitha, Leonard Jr., Raymond, Rosalie, Danielle, Breann, and Amy;
her sons-in-law Ron Graham and Leonard Holmberg, Sr.; her daughter-in-law Lupe
Harris; her great-grandchildren Syrus, Shelton, Alexandra, Harmony, Raymond,
Kahalla, Quianna, Aushinae and Missy.

A memorial service for Glenda will be held in Whittier, AK at the schoolhouse on
Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 6 p.m.

The family would like flowers at the service to honor Glenda. If you have any

Arrangements were entrusted to the Legacy Funeral Home, Kehl's Chapel.
