  KOYUKUK MINING DISTRICT. On the river of same name and to the n of Tanana.

Among the creeks on which the richest deposits have been found are Myrtle, Slate

and Twelve-Mile, but many others show good results. The gold is found in gravel

and on the bed rock, which is mostly slate. Tanana is the nearest p o and

shipping point on the Yukon river
