  TANANA. A p o and trading past on the Yukon river at the mouth of the Tanana

river, 900 miles n e of St Michael and 720 n w of Dawson. N W T, the nearest

banking point. The trading post is also known as Weare. It is also a landing for

steamboats from all Yukon river points. Gold is found in the vicinity and to the

north along the Koyukuk river. Pop, 186.
