Rd. 42 (Autauga County). Wyatt Willis, a relative of the Carters and caretaker of the cemetery, told me it was known to them as the Carter Hill Cemetery. Whether it is because it is on a slight hill in that cow pasure or because some Hills are buried there too, I don't know. It is about 300 yards out in the middle of a cow pasture and is easy to miss. Coming from Hy 31 go west on Co. Rd. 40. go all the way, crossing Co. Rd. 57 at Cooks Grocery, until you get to Old Kingston (Old Kingston is about 8 miles from Hy 31). Take a right off of Co. Rd. 40 onto Co. Rd. 21, a paved road (if you go left it is a dirt road). Go about 3 miles or so and take a left on Co. Rd. 42, which is a dirt road. Go about a mile or so and when you pass Co. Rd. 112 (also dirt), which will be on your left, then look to your right. About 300 yds out in that cow pasture on a slight rise you will see a clopse of trees and a fenced in area with some stones poking up. That is the Carter Cemetery. The other Carter Cemetery is located way out north of Prattville in the Skyline community on the corner of Hy 82 and Co. Rd. 37, on your left as you turn onto Co. Rd. 37. Anyway, go out in the field and go around to the back side of cemetery. When you enter the gate on the back side of the cemetery you will be facing the ends of the grave rows. I went to my right and started at the row to my farthest right, from L. to R. 1ST ROW; L. TO R.; Only one grave that I could see was on this row. Umarked graves are in that cemetery I am sure: (1.)
