This file was contributed and copyrighted by: Beth Gay ================================================================================= February 2001 Source- Transcribed from Copy of deed obtained from Autauga County, Alabama Deed Book D-Vol.4 pp194-195 State of Alabama} Autauga County} Know all men by these presents,- Whereas James Coker late of the State and County aforesaid, departed this life sometime since, intestate- leaving surviving him as his legal heirs and representatives, a widow, Sally, and the following children, viz-Daniel, Henry, Nancy, who intermarried with Levi Coker, Thomas Coker, James, Elizabeth, who intermarried with Harrison Boyt, William, Pleasant, who intermarried with Jacob Martin, and John Coker-and whereas it was the dying request of the said James Coker, that the small estate of which he was seized and possessed should remain in the possession of his said wife, Sally, without sale or separation, as her individual right and property, during her natural life-and whereas each of us have received from the said deceased, fractions equal, or nearly equivalent, by way of advancement, to the share to which we would be entitled by administration, after the payment of all lawful debts due by said intestate-and whereas for the further consideration of our wishes to comply with the dying request of our beloved father, and for the natural love and affection we have for our aged mother-and for the further consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to each of us paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, we the aforesaid legatees have this day remised(?), released, sold and forever quit claimed, and by therefore-unto each of us do hereby remise, sell, release, con- convey and quit claim unto the said Sally Coker our mother, for and during her natural life, all the claims, right, title and interest which we or either of us now or hereafter may have to the goods and chattels and personal estate of the said James Coker dec'd of every discription unto the said Sally Coker, during her natural life, to have and to hold the same in her own personal right, against us, or either of us, our heirs, exors, administrators and assigns- In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seal this 21 day of June 1834- Signed, sealed and acknowledged in the presence of Henry Atchison, J.P., W.
