My dear Wife: Since I wrote this letter to you I learned from Mr. Underwood who is going to start home tomorrow that he will convey it to you. I postponed mailing it & now I will write a note to let you know that I am getting well of my cold, & the health of our Company is better than it was some few weeks ago. Brother Wm's & Cousin Capers health are good. No war news at all. Dear Wife be of good cheer. Kiss my little boys for me. My Dear Devoted Wife I do not know how to write to you. I want to see' you so bad, but the time is coming when I will be with you again. Pray for me darling, God will hear your prayers. I send by you a letter to Sister Matilda.
