Wadsworth, sergeant, Company H, 167th Infantry. For extraordinary heroism in action near Landres-et-St. Georges, France, October 15, 1918. He was severely wounded in the attack on the Cote-de-Chatillon, but he refused to be evacuated and remained with his platoon under heavy fire, reorganizing it for the counterattack for which the enemy were forming, thereby setting to his men an inspiring example of utter disregard for danger and heroism in the face of the enemy.
