HOUSE was born the 9th day of March 1800 in Wilkes County, Georgia. He was in the war of 1812, ran away from school, and served until the close of the war. He was discharged at Fort Jackson in the spring of 1815, and then went into business with his brother, J.P. HOUSE. He also taught school for a time. He acted as deputy sheriff with Benjamin Fitzpatrick under his brother, Capt. HOUSE. WILLIAM returned to Georgia in 1820 and married a Miss FRANKLIN, lived for a time again in Autauga, and then moved to Chambers County where he was elected and served as Circuit Clerk for several terms in that county.
