The Southern Signal on October 2, 1885:
WILLIAM died suddenly in 1845. He was remembered as an upright man and greatly
liked by all who knew him. He had a land warrant from the government for his
services in the war of 1812-1815, and his wife drew a pension the last years of
her life, until she died in 1884 in Arkansas. William HOUSE has only three
children living; a son, Lucious HOUSE living in California, a daughter living in
Washington City, and one in Autauga.
