Caver, Jr. January 3, 1935: Friends of Mrs. Josephine BUCKNER sympathize with her in the death, last Wednesday at Tallassee, Alabama, of her half-brother, Dr. Jesse GULLEDGE, age 61, who married Miss Viola TAYLOR, December 23rd, 1900. He was a very popular and successful physician, having practiced in that vicinity since his graduation from Mobile Medical College in 1899. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Euclid, of Montgomery; Frank of Tallassee; two daughters, Misses Josephine and Elizabeth of Tallassee; two brothers, Ben F. and W.J. GULLEDGE of Tallassee; two sisters, Mrs. Susie FOSTER of Eclectic, and Mrs. Josephine BUCKNER, of Prattville; two grandchildren (not named) and a number of nieces and nephews... He was a member of the Baptist Church, Tallassee, whose pastor, Reverend Collis CUNNINGHAM, conducted his funeral at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 20th, and burial at Tallassee Cemetery.
