Caver, Jr. January 3, 1935: After a few days illness Mrs. Lola Shelly ROY died at the home of her son, Wesley D. ROY, near Prattville, on the night of December 28th (1934). Lola SHELLY was born November 1st, 1865, and was just past her 69th birthday. She was married to the late Reverend John Wesley ROY on January 1st, 1894. He preceded her to the home beyond, April 14th, 1900. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church... Surviving her are one son, Wesley D. ROY, and three daughters, Mrs. F.L. WADSWORTH, Mrs. Grady W. GOLSON, and Mrs. W.R. NORTHINGTON, all of Prattville. The pall bearers were her grandson, Joe PHILBRICK, Allen Frank, Jr., and Roy WADSWORTH, Shelly, Wesley and William GOLSON, and Adolphus and Charles NORTHINGTON... Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Griffin in charge.
