“Signs of the Times” Primitive Baptist Periodical February 1969 Issue

MRS. WILLIE C. RHODES – Autauga Co. and Coffee County, Ala.

	Mrs. W. C. Rhodes, the beloved companion of Brother Willie Rhodes, died 
Nov. 21, 1968, after a short illness.  She was a faithful member and clerk of 
New Providence Church, Kingston, Ala., for many years and labored so well with 
her husband, who had been a minister for many years in their church.  They were 
baptized some 50 years ago at Sarepta Church in Coffee Co., Ala., by Elder H. 
O. Rhodes, an able early Primitive Baptist Elder and the father of Brother 
Willie Rhodes.  They lived a devoted life to their church, and sad is the loss 
to Brother Willie and their two daughters.
	Elder J. J. Collins was called to conduct the funeral but was unable to 
attend, so Elder Ivey Watson, their pastor, preached an able sermon in her 
memory at New Providence on Nov. 23, 1968.  Interment was in the adjoining 
cemetery. – J. J. Collins
