George Tunstall, aged 49 years; he was born in the county of Pittsylvania, in the commonwealth of Virginia. In early youth, Col. Tunstall removed with his parents from Virginia to the city of Nashville in the State of Tennessee, where he was educated, and in the year 1817, became proprietor and editor of the Nashville Whig, where he continued until the United States took possession of Florida, at which time he removed to Pensacola and established a press, where he remained until he intermarried with the daughter of the late David Tate of Baldwin county, after his marriage he withdrew from the editorial department and retired on a farm, where he spent the remainder of his days. Col. Tunstall always enjoyed fine health, but the monster came and deprived the world of this truly good man. He never made any profession of religion, but always treated the subject with that attention and consideration which its great importance demands. In his relations in life, he was kind, affectionate, and humane - his sainted spirit has taken its flight to that God who gave it.
