I William Davis of the District and state aforesaid planter being in perfect health of body of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, praised be to God for the same, so make this my last will and testament in manner and form following towit it is my will and desire that my beloved wife Mary Davis do have the priviledge of living on the plantation where I now reside for and during the time of her natural life or widowhood to my said beloved wife I give and bequeath for and during the term of her natural life all the negroes & other slaves together with their natural increase which she inherited or in any other manner became entitled to and recived from the estate of her late Father upon the death of my said wife. It is my will & desire that the above described negros & other slaves together with their natural increase shall go to and be equally divided and apportioned amony my childrne hereinafter named and any other children which my said wife may here after have thereby the present or any subsequent intermarriage. I further give and bequeath to my beloved wife, six cows & calves, six breeding sowe a bed and furniture Kitchen furniture and my sorrel mare called Seloid, to her and to her heirs forever. To my Children James Thomson, William Henry, Deborah McRee, Robert Dunnam, Rachel Elizabeth & Etenod David to each of them I give and bequeath a seventh part of all the negro and other slaves together with their present and future increase which owned & possessed at the time of my intermarriage with my said wife subsequent however to the limitations and provisions herein after made & set forth. The remaining seventh part of the said last mentioned negro & other slaves including the present and future increase of the same with also all & any other property as well real as personal which any preceeding or subsequent clause or clauses in this my last will & Testament may equitably entitle my daughter Ann Stathart O Brian to receive the same. I give and bequeath to my said son James Thomson in special trust & confidence to & for the exclusive use benefit and advantage of my said daughter Ann Stothard OBrian and her children should she have any to be free from and in no wise subject to the control of her presnet husband or in the smallest degree to be lieable for an of his debts and contracts, my beds & furniture except the one herein before disposed of I give and bequeath to my said children to be equally divided among them, the rest and residue of my Personal together with my real estate I will and direct my herein after named Executors to sell at their discretion for the payment of my legal debts and do here in authorize and empower them to make and execute all of any late conveyance or conveyances for the smae as the law may require. It is will and desire any bequest or devise hereinbefore made to the contrary notwithstanding that should any of my said children my said daughter Ann Stothard Obrean included die leaving not children that all the negro & other slaves including their natural increase together with every species of property which said deceased child shall or may have received or become entitled to by virtue of this my last will & Testament the same shall in such an event go to and be equal by divided among my surviving children strict regard being had in the distribution thereof to the right of representation as fas as the children of a deceased Brother or Sister of the deceased child. For the execution of this my last will & testament I do herein and hereby make constitue and appoint my said beloved wife Mary Davis Executrix my said two sons James Thomson William Henry and my beloved Brother Henry Davis Executors there of herein and hereby revoking and making void all other wills or wills & Testaments at any time by me heretofore made and do declare this to be my last will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this ninth day of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred & twenty one, and in the forty fifth year of the sovereignty and Independance of the United States of America.
