Be it remembered that at a Probate Court held in and for said county on the 2nd day of Feb 1857. Present and presiding J Williams Judge of said court. The State of Alabama Barbour County. Know all men by these presents that we H. Pipkin and D M Seals are held and formerly bound unto his Honour J. S. Williams, Judge of the Probate Court of said county and his secessors in office in the penal sum of two thousand dollars for the payment of which sum, will and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and administrators fully and firmly these presents sealed with our seals and entered this the 2 day of Feb 1857. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas H. Pipkin has been duly appointed guardian of the person and property of Charles S. Pipkin, minor heir of Emily C. Pipkin desceased daughter of Thomas Jones, dec'd. Now of the said H. Pipkin shall well and truly perform all the duties which are or may be by law required of him as such guardian then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force. Haywood Pipkin who makes suit unto this court to grant unto him Letters of Guardianship upon the person and property of Francis C., Charles S., Mary R and Martha A. Pipkin. He having filed his sum in the sum of two thousand dollars in each of the above named cases with D M. Seals his security conditioned is the sum required in such cases. It is therefor ordered that Letters of Guardianship as aforsaid be granted to him in each of the above stated cases accordingly. Additional Comments: Haywood Pipkin establishes letters of guardianship of his minor children regarding the estate of his deceased wife, and mother of the minor heirs, Emily C. (Jones) Pipkin.
