W. Stephens, respectively represents to your honorable board that he is a resident of Barbour County in the state of Alabama. That he has resided in said state on the first day of January 1899. He enlisted in the service of the State or Confederate States as a 'private' in Company'B' in the 33rd Regiment on the 11th Day of March, 1862 at Clopton, Dale County, Alabama and that he was honorably discharged from such service on the 26th Day of April, 1865 and did not desert the service of the Confederate States or the State of Alabama. He was wounded at the battle of Franklin, Tenn. That he is unable to make a living by manual labor on the account od old age general health failed. At this time he is 64 years of age and is living in Clio, Alabama. He does not own any property in his own name or his wife's name, to the value of $400 and that his annual income does not exceed $400 and that he has no children upon whom he can depend on for support. He files a complete schedule of all property owned by he and his wife. Signed J. W. Stephens, applicant.
