Toney, mother of Judge Sterling B. Toney, of Louisville, Ky. and mother-in-law of Governor W. C. Oates, died at her famous home, Roseland, about four miles north of this city Friday night at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Toney was past three score and ten, and was a lady known all over the south as the personification of all that was pure, noble and good. Her death was sudden and rather unexpected.
