Death in Barbour County, Ala. 
Mt. Andrew, Barbour County, Ala., March 23d

Died at the residence of his son Obadiah Whittington, John Whittington, aged 88
years. He was born in South Carolina in 1782, moved to Alabama in 1833, and has
lived a peaceable and quiet citizen until his death March 15th, 1880. In him was
buried one of Barbour's oldest inhabitants. Peace to his remains, and may our loss
be his eternal gain.
