C., 31st August, 1829. When about 14 years old, she lost her mother, and the care of the household and her younger sisters devolved upon her. These weighty duties she discharged with earnestness and success beyond her years. Her intellectual endowments were of the highest order, and through the agency of her brother, L. L., she obtained a finished education studying the ancient classics under H. R. HALL. As a writer, she attained a good degree of excellence, both in prose and poetry, and has left many polished gems to attest her talents. In early life she engaged in the business of teaching, first in North Carolina and afterwards in South Carolina. In 1854, she went to Alabama and resumed the business of, as she was devoted and highly successful. In 1859 she was married to W. B. ROBINS of Marshall, Ala., and she died in Blount County, Ala., Sept. 17, 1864.
