The lady standing is unknown at this time. This picture was taken inside the Old McCollister Store that was located at Village Springs in Blount County, Alabama. The picture was taken prior to 1938 and shows my maternal grandparents, Frances Bell & John Robert McCollister. The McCollisters operated the old store for only a short period of time, probably from about 1933 to around 1941. Frances Bell died in 30 November 1937 and John Robert on 3 October 1942. Both are buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. NOTE: The old calendar on the wall is difficult to read, but the year appears to be 1933. Also, note that cigaretts were much cheaper back then; 17 cents a pack. Clabber Girl Baking Powder and Quaker 3 Minute Oats appeared to be an important staple back then.
