In the name of God Amen I JOHN GUNTER of the County of Blount and State of Alabama being very sick and weak in body but of good mind and memory thanks be unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men on to die do make and ordain this, my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent form And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith has pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and forever... First I give and bequeath unto ELIZABETH my dearly beloved Wife after paying all of my Just debts my entire estate during her widowhood consisting of my present crop on hand.-hogs horses cattle and houshold furniture and my deeded? land wishing her to remain in the improvement whereon I live and enter it when it comes into market in the court she should marry I wish an equal division of, the property making my legal heirs and I also apoint GODFREY FOWLER my legal Executor to attend to the settlement of business and all other duties appertaining to that appointment I declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this the 28th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred forty Signed and sealed in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our name . . . .
