Adams The Strom burial plot was officially declared to be a cemetery by the Bullock County Commission on Decembeer 14, 1998. Only one of the six graves in the plot is marked, that of John Strom, who settled this land in 1839. He was a descendant of German immigrants named Straub who arrived in Charleston, South Carolina in 1764. The burial plot is on the original Strom homeplace, on the north side of County Highway 14, about one mile east of Hooks Crossroads (Highway 15) and about five miles west of Halls Crossroads (Alabama Highway 223). This property is now the residence of Lawrence Maxwell, and visitors seeking the cemetery should first check at the home. In addition to John Strom's headstone, there are 2 double brick plots and 4 smaller single brick plots. Because these sites are not marked, there can be no certainty, but it is known that John Strom and his wife, after settling in Alabama, had two children who died in infancy, so it is likely that burials in the unmarked graves include: Lucy Hough Strom Nov 5, 1805 1865 James Benjamin Strom May 26, 1841 Dec 2, 1842 Martha Ann S. Strom May 19, 1843 Apr 30, 1844.
