Two tenths of a mile north of the crossroads, an unpaved road to the right (east) leads across some fields, about 400 feet, to the heavily forested cemetery on a slight hill. Although surrounded by a barbed wire fence, the cemetery is in very poor condition--overgrown, unmaintained, suffering from vandalism. Deterioration is clearly demonstrated by noting the number of headstones which have been lost since 1974. A survey of this cemetery, contributed by Mrs. Henry W. Folmar, was published in the Alabama Genealogical Society Magazine, Vol. 8, #3, July, 1974, p. 30. Mrs. Folmar suggests the name of Eugenia Haley's husband is Abijah or Abicah, and she reports a headstone, no longer extant, for Mr. Haley, with the dates August 4, 1833 - October 16, 1907. Mrs. Folmar reports 1877 as the death year for Malichi Etheridge. [Calculated birthday would be October 20, 1815.] Both Mr. Haley and Mr. Etheridge are identified as Masons. Mrs. Folmar reports a headstone, no longer extant, for the wife of Henry Herin, Sarah, who died July 4, 1850, aged 73 yrs, 3 mos, and 26 days. [Calculated birthday would be March 8, 1777.] Mrs. Folmar reports a headstone, no longer extant, for the wife of Enoch Salter, Sarah, born January 8, 1806, died August 21, 1846. The apparent footstone with the initials S. S. might be for this grave; however, Mrs. Folmar notes a nameless headstone near that of Mary Salter with the dates July 24, 1859 - March 31, 1863, and the small stone marked S. S. at the foot of that grave. Mrs. Folmar reports a headstone, no longer extant, for Susan Kirkland, with the dates January 25, 1852 - April 20, 1854. Information in brackets [ ] added by surveyor.
