“The State of Alabama
Bullock County

Know all men by these presents that in consideration of the sum of six hundred
dollars to us in hand paid by M. W. Britts, the following described real estate
to wit: the N.E. ¼ of the S.W. ¼ all in section 3 township 13 & range 25. Also
the house seat occupied at this date by Eliga Cofield his unmarried sister and
Mrs. Penn containing 8 or 10 acres as described in deed signed by William Cox &
wife Mary Cox on the 4th day of November 1875 as follows “8 or 10 acres more or
less in the south west portion on the S.W. ¼ of the N.E. ¼ if sec 3 township 13
in range 25”. Also the acres bought by Thomas Ellis of Mrs. A Thomas & used for
mill purpose to back water upon.  All of said lands containing 140 acres more or
less situated in said state and county & further described by metes (?) and
bounds as follows – on East by lands of T.M. Norton: on North by lands of said
Nortons & Wash Hunter Colored: on West by lands of Mrs. A. Thomas and South by
lands of said Mrs. Thomas & M. W. Britt, Sr. To have and to hold to said M.W.
Britt, Sr. his heirs & assigns forever. Witness our hands & seals this the 24
day of Oct 1896.
