J. W. Joyner's book, A History of the Baptists in Butler County ( 1819-1957). Surnames have been capitolized for easier visualization. Mildred Stinson Brown Gatesville, Texas ------------------------------------ FOREST HOME BAPTIST CHURCH This church is located in the northweat part of the county in the village of Forest Home. The church was organized in the year 1856, and until the year 1885 was called Ebenezer. The first records of the church were destroyed by fire and the presbytery in charge is not known. T. MAXWELL, E. M. STEWART, J.G. DIEFENON, W.H. KAMPLAIN, LESTER HILL. The church ordained Rev. Asberry THOMSON. Forest Home Church has for the last fifty years had an evergreen Sunday School. For forty years it has had a Training Union, and for thirty years a live W. M. U. This church furnished four moderators for the Association: J. G. REYNOLDS, H. R. SCHRAMM, M. I. McLEOD, and W. H. KAMPLAIN. W. A. GLENN, from this church, was clerk for twenty years. The church had entertained all over the country as being very efficient entertainers.
