Franklin (not associated with Tracking Your Roots) lisafranklin2004@earthlink.net and Belinda Jacks belindaj@sbcglobal.net October 30, 2008, 9:18 pm Source: Probate Minutes Volume 18 Page 467 Written: August 27, 1877 467 Mark Franklin Decd Estate of } Special Term Probate Court Decree on Annual Settlement } August 27th 1877 This being the day set to hear and pass upon the account here- tofore filed by Twiggs Franklin as the Administration of said Estate, for an Annual Settlement of his administration thereof, now comes the said Twiggs Franklin and moves the Court to proceed with such settlement and that said accounts be passed and allowed. And it is ap- pearing to the Court from proper evidence, that due notice of the time and nature of this settlement has been given by publication for three successive weeks in the Greenville Advocate, a news paper published in this County; and Ransom Seale who was heretofore appointed to act as guardian ad litum for, and to protect the interest of Moses Burkett a minor legatee of said decedent, in the pending Set- tlement, now appearing in open court consenting to act, and contesting such Settlement, the Court proceeds to examine said accounts and to hear the proof in relation thereto: Whereupon it is found that said administrator has received, in case, of the assets of said Estate, inclu- ding interest, the sum of One Hundred and Forth One & 40/100 Dollars, that he has justly expended in and about the costs and charges attendant upon said administration, and in the paying of the just debts of said de- ceased including interest, the sum of One Hundred and Twenty & 70/100 Dollars, leaving in his hands the sum of Twenty & 70/100 Dollars. It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court, that the said ac- count be, and the same is hereby in all things passed and allowed, as above Stated. It is further ordered, that said accounts, vouchers and evidences and Statements together with all other papers on file per- taining to this settlement and proceeding be recorded. It is further ordered that said administration pay the Costs and expenses of this settlement to be allowed to him against said estate.
