Written: July 7, 1877

The State of Alabama	}  To any Sheriff of the State
	Butler County	}  you are hereby commanded, without delay, to
summon

                 Twiggs Franklin of Precinct No. 1

personally to be and appear before the Honorable, the Court of County
Commissioners
of Butler County, at the court room thereof, on the 27th day of August 1877
then and there to shew cause why the valuation placed
upon his land in his assessment for 1877 should
not be raised.

and have you then and there this writ with your endorsement thereon.
        Witness our hand this 7th day of August AD 1877
