Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, September 24, 1908
Deputy sheriff, King Murphy of Greenville, was here a few days ago and took 

back with him as a prisoner, a negro by the name of Adam Austin, who is charged 

with the murder of Edna Jackson, also colored, whom he killed at Georgiana 

several months ago. He escaped at the time to this county and was apprehended 

here and the sheriff of Butler county notified.
