Funeral services were October 27 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harely Hamrick and Rev. Therl Cartwright officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery, Johnson Funeral Home directing. Survivors include three sons, Willis Blackburn, Georgiana, Ray Blackburn, Greenville, and Hilton Blackburn Houston Texas; one sister Mrs. Essie Blackburn, Mobile; one brother, James Eady, Daleville; four grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. R. D. Blackburn, formerly city marshal of Warrior and later employed by the Lousiville & Nashville railroad as a private detective was shot from ambush and fatally wounded one night last week.
