Died:

On Tuesday last, A. J. Hawthorne, brother of Gen. A. T. Hawthorne died in 
Greenville, Alabama where he lived.

Additional Comments:
From "Butler County, Alabama Obituaries," compiled by Marilyn Davis Barefield, 
published 1985, page 124:

"Maj. A. J. Hawthorne died on the Sabboth the 26th ult. in Greenville. He was a 
true Odd Fellow, Faithful Mason and church member. (8/30/1877)"
