Died:

On Sunday last, Rev. K. Hawthorne, father of Gen. A. T. Hawthorne died in 
Greenville, Alabama where he lived.

Additional Comments:
From "Butler County, Alabama Obituaries," compiled by Marilyn Davis Barefield, 
published 1985, page 124:

"Rev. K. Hawthorne, aged father of Maj. A. J. & Rev. J. B. Hawthorne, died 
suddenly in Greenville Tuesday.  The old gentle man was with his son, the 
Major, in his last illness and doubtless his grief at his son's death and his 
extreme age caused the silver thread to break and let his spirit free to join 
his loved ones.  (8/30/1877)
