Montgomery Advertiser  May 28, 1959

John Chapman Pouncey, age 84, died Tuesday at Greenville Hospital.  Funeral
was at Friendship Holiness Church with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Survivors included sons Ira Pouncey of Georgiana, Arthur Pouncey of Greenville, 
John and Herman Pouncey of Montgomery, and J C Pouncey of Mobile; daughters Lela 
Salter and Eula Till of Greenville, Lennie Walters of Georgiana, Adell Douglas of
Andalusia, Ann Cromosky of Atlanta, Lenna Till of Montgomery and Jessie Lee
Simons of Pensacola; brothers:  Jake Pouncey of Montgomery, Ira Pouncey of
Greenville, Mace Pouncey of Greenville, and Louis Pouncey of Atmore;
sisters Mrs. Harry Thomas of Bushland Florida.
