GOODWIN, GEORGE ALBERT, 77, died Thursday afternoon, March 11, 1937 in Butler 
County, Ala. after a short illness. Mr. Goodwin was born in Lowndes Co, Ala., 
July 22, 1859, later moving to Butler where he spent most of his life. He was 
one of the Butler County's most successful farmers until about four years ago 
when he was stricken with high blood pressure. On January 2, 1895, he married 
Mrs. Mollie Frances Bush and to this union were born four children, one son 
and three daughters. The son died while quite young. He was a member of the 
Methodist Protestant Church for many years. Surviving are his widow, Mollie, 
and three daughters, Mrs J.W. Piggotte, McKenzie; Mrs. Lee Reeves and Mrs J.T. 
Lewis, both of the Green-Moore community; one step-daughter, Mrs O.W. 
Chambliss, Green-Moore community; two step-sons, Mr. W.A, Bush of Montgomery 
and Mr. Fate Bush of McKenzie ; four grandchildren and 18 step-grandchildren; 
one brother, Mr. Matt Goodwin of Luverne; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Brushey Creek conducted by Rev. 
J.W. Joyner and Rev. M.L. Joiner and Rev. M.L. Heaton assisted by the Masons. 
Dunklin Funeral Home directed. Among those attended the funeral were Mr and 
Mrs Matt Goodwin, Mr and Mrs Mallory Goodwin, and Mr. Henry Goodwin of 
Luverne. Others present were Mr Calvin Cassady and Mrs Rob Bates of Fort 
Deposit, Mr and Mrs Fate Bush, Mr and Mrs Willie George, and Mrs Edgar Young 
of McKenzie, Mr and Mrs George I Goodwin, Mrs Fannie Mae Coleman, Mrs Ada 
Holladay, and Mr W. A. Bush of Montgomery.
