C. Russell Dies After Brief Illness James C. Russell, 71 died at his home in the Pigeon Greek community at 4:00 o'clock Saturday morning, January 7th, after a short illness. Surviving are his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Eula Nix, Mrs. Pluma Searcy, Misses Lurline and Colan Russell, of Pigeon Creek, Miss Lillian Russell of Montgomery; four sons, Mr. Byron Russell of Montgomery, Mr. Ralph Russell of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Tyson Russell of Birmingham. Mr. James Russell of Greenvill; tow brothers, Mr. Luther Russell of Panama City, Fla., and Mr. Simon Russell of Pigeon Creek; one sister, Mrs. Lou Anna Chance, of Red Level. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Sardis Church, of which he was a lifelong member. Rev. C. M. Perry, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Greenville, conducted the services with the Masonic rites at the grave. The pall bearers were Prof. Fincher, Messrs.
