We cannot understand God’s providences and after only a week’s illness with influenza her beautiful life ended. Miss Wannie was born in Texas and partly reared in Greenville and Georgiana, being the youngest daughter of Mrs. D. B. Taylor and her deceased husband. Her father dying when she was young Wannie devoted her life to her mother, and this devotion was beautiful to see. Not only was she a devoted daughter but in her sphere of sister and aunt in the home she did “all she could” for the beloved ones of her family circle. Not alone in the home was she busy but found time to always go wherever there was trouble in the lowliest or highest places and by all the people of Georgiana she was thought of truly as a “Ministering Angel.” All who knew her can rise up and call her blessed. We will all miss her pleasant words, companionship, and ministering attentions but the influence of her beautiful life will live on with us and she will be remembered by what she has done. After a brief funeral service Wednesday at the residence conducted by Rev. B. M. Herlong and Rev. J. E. Cook, Jr., the remains of this sweet young woman were tenderly laid to rest in our silent city of the dead. Miss Wannie “has crossed the bar” and now lies sleeping beneath a mound covered with beautiful florals - the last testimony of their love for her that friends could show, but we will not forget thee.
