The husband, Robert Nall, 32, sobbed out details of the tragedy in the county jail where he had been taken for emergency treatment. He said they were coming to Pensacola for a family gathering when the right front tire blew out on a sharp curve at Roberts. Nall said the car careened and turned on one side, pinning his 26-year-old wife, Mrs. Minnie Wilson Nall, beneath. She died while Nall and other passengers made futile efforts to remove her from the burning machine, Nall said. Child Seriously Hurt The child, Marcus Nall, was taken to Molino by passing motorists. Officers said he was in serious condition. Sidney Loftin, driver of the car, and Grady Wilson, brother of Mrs. Nall, suffered painful burns about the face. Loftin was docketed at the county jail for reckless driving and released under his own recognizance pending the report of a coroner’s jury summoned by Peace Justice J.L. Bryant. "She was lying on her stomach begging for help," Nall cried Monday night. "We tried to turn the car over, but couldn't on account of the flames. "You don't know how it feels to see your darling wife dying in front of your eyes when you can't do anything to help her. I can just hear her screaming there, begging me to help when I couldn't," he mourned. "She looked at me so pitifully." "The doctors must save my baby," he said. Nall's hair and eyebrows were singed as were those of other survivors. All suffered multiple burns on the face and forearms. Rescue Near As Fire Spreads Deputies Ernest Harper and H.E. Gandy, Jr., who investigated said the survivors had almost succeeded in removing Mrs. Nall from the flaming wreckage when gasoline from the carburetor apparently ignited and spread where the gasoline tank had been emptied, driving back rescuers. First pinned at about the middle of her body, Mrs. Nall had been practically extricated. She was still held fast, however, by one foot under the heavy Buick sedan. Her body was burned to ashes. Nall said he first saw a spark under the dashboard but before a minute had elapsed the entire automobile was in flames. All except Mrs. Nall were pulled from the car by a passing motorist, E.Y. Morgan. The party was en route to the home of Oscar Nall, a brother of the widower, who resides at LaRua and H Streets, Pensacola, where they were to have visited. Both Nall men were married to sisters in the Wilson family. Surviving Mrs. Nall are her husband and son; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Nall, of Pensacola and Mrs. Jesse Pough, of Molino; four brothers, Grady, Ransom, Barney and Albert Wilson, and her mother, Mrs. Caniss Wilson, of Molino. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Little Flock Church with interment in the Little Flock cemetery near Molino with Fisher-Pou directing. Elder Davis conducting the service. ---Pensacola Journal The above article will be of interest to many friends of Mrs. Nall in Butler County.
