SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED IN PRESENCE OF: Granberry (his x mark) Little, L.S. and Seaborn G. K. Jones, L.S. Additional Comments: In 1850, Granberry Little, age 14 and born in GA, is found in Butler Co., AL in the household of Thomas and Jane Little. Living next door are John Little, age 84, born in Ireland and Catherine Little, age 75, born in Scotland; perhaps Thomas Little’s parents. In 1850, Nancy P. Lord, age 12 and born in AL, is living with her parents, Wooten and Evaline Howard Lord in Pike Co., AL. By the 1860 census, Evaline Lord and her younger children are living in Butler Co., AL, moving there presumably after Wooten died. By 1860, Granberry and Nancy Little moved to Houston Co., TX. Mr. Little served the CSA as a private in the 6th Battalion Texas Cavalry, Co. E. (source: U.S. Civil War Soldiers 1861 - 1865, Ancestry.com; Muster roll, Texans in the Civil War, Randall Howald‘s webpage). He received pension under #09390 in Limestone Co. TX. After he died in 1911, his widow received pension #20320 in Limestone Co., TX (sources: Limestone Co., TX Civil War Pensions, TXGenWeb; TX State Library and Archives, Index to Confederate Pension Applications). In 1910, Granberry and Nancy are found in Limestone Co., TX living with their son, Francis M. Little and family. Granberry Little is buried in New Hope Cemetery in Limestone Co., TX. His headstone reads: G. Little, 11/24/1827 - 05/27/1911 (source: TxGenWeb, Limestone Co. cemetery transcriptions). In 1920, Nancy Little, age 84 and a widow, is living with her son Francis M. Little and family in Limestone Co., TX. I assume Nancy died between 1920 and 1930 as I do not find her after the 1920 census. I have not found her grave on a cemetery transcription or a listing for her on the TX Death Index. I am a descendant of Nancy's brother, Joshua Thomas Lord and his wife, Jane Curlee (written variously as Corlee or Carlee in documents).
