Bond & Marriage of Lytle S. Black and Mary Ann Sims - Butler Co., AL


Below is a reprinted copy of the marriage license and bond for Lytle S. Black,
son of Mrs. Mary Ann Black, and Mary Ann Sims, daughter of Sherod and Margaret
Sims.  The bond was signed by Lytle (spelled here as Litle) Black and J. D.
Addison.

To any Ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or
Probate Courts, or Justice of the Peace for said County - - GREETING:

Your are hereby authorized to Celebrate the

RITES OF MATRIMONY
Between

Litle S. Black and M[ijs] Mary Ann Sims

And this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.

Given under my hand and Lord this 6th day of October
A. D. 1858 and of American Independence the 83th year.

The Above named parties were married by me the 16th day of October A.D. 1858,
at Hugh L. Black's.      			W. C. Sheperd, J.P.

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, Butler COUNTY,

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we Litle S. Black
and J. D. Addison

are held and firmly bound unto The State of Alabama, in the penal sum of TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS; for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind
ourselves, and each and every of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators,
jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our Seals, and
dated the 6th day of October A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and 58.

The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That if there be no lawful
cause why Lytle S. Black and M[ijs] Mary Ann Sims should not be joined
together in the Holy Union of Matrimony, then this Obligation to be void;
otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
