The following is a copy of the marriage license of Robert L. Black, son of
Mrs. Mary Ann Black, and Mrs. Louisa Pugh, parents or first husband unknown.  

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, }
BUTLER COUNTY -- ss/		}

To any ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or
Probate Courts, or Justice of the Peace for said County - - GREETING:

You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between Robert
L. Black and Mrs. Louisa Pugh and this shall be your sufficient authority for
so doing.

Given under my hand and seal this 1st day of January A. D. 1868 and of
American Independence the 93rd year.
