I visited Calhoun Cty Alabama in September, 1998 to visit newly discovered 
cousins and do research on my  surname COPPOCK. (I live in Tx) While there I 
came across a family gravesite on a  private farm formerly owned by one of my
Ancestors.  Here is the information personally obtained from the tombstones:  

CHAMPION Elizabeth 	6/25/1810 - __/14/1852

CHAMPION William	      1/10/1810 - 6/27/1863

ALPIN Nancy M.		1830 - 1899

SHELL Mellisa CUPP	no dates

SHELL W. M. 		1831-1885

CHAMPION John Wiley	3/5/1863 - 5/10/1931

CHAMPION Hepsy White	1833 - 1905 

My ancestor bought the farm around the turn of the century and these names are 
not connected to us so I feel it must be the people who owned the farm earlier.  
I was allowed to visit the location due to the fact that my cousins live right 
down the road from the location and are acquainted with the present owners.  
Present house is the same one my ancestor built.  It is near Jacksonville.
