Worth, Texas Date: May 2, 1920 Dear Mother: I have been wanting to write you for some time in fact every since I received your letter and especially while you have been sick, but for the reason that I have been going through some exciting times here lately. I must haven't done so but now all of that is over. I will try to keep you posted on our progress, health, wherebouts, etc. Am mighty glad indeed to know you are improving from your sickness and do hope you will continue improving until you have regained your rest of health. This leaves your second "Mr. and Mrs. Mellon" enjoying the best of health and taking life easy but guess tomorrow will find me back at Swift and Co. since today is my last vacation day. Now Mother, you said in your letter to me about you couldn't see why Roberta and I grew up in the same town together, but had to come to the great State of Texas to learn to love each other and wondered why we didn't learn to love each other there instead of waiting to come to Texas. Will say one reason was we didn't have a chance to know each other until we came to Texas. Again sometimes I think it must be of the Good Lord miracle by sending her so far away from home right to me. Anyway, if the later is correct I think he sent me the best and sweetest he had. Now Roberta is writing you and am sure she is telling you all the news and for fear we may tell you the same news. I will not try to give you any this more time but will try to give news next time. Write us both when you feel like writing for we will be mighty glad to hear from you. Love to all Your New Son Sam Additional Comments: Sam A.
